Still relatively unknown in Quebec, sea buckthorn is gaining popularity for its health benefits. This is why the cosmetics and pharmaceutical industries are taking an interest in it. It's a very complete fruit containing a wide range of vitamins and beneficial properties. The food industry also uses this fruit because of its unique flavor. Highly prized by chefs, it stands out for its citrus notes and is often used in sauces to accompany meats, in salad dressings, and in pastries.
In addition to Omega 3, 6, 7, and 9 fatty acids, sea buckthorn contains vitamins A, B1, B2, C, E, and K. Its vitamin C content is 30 times higher than that of an orange, making this fruit a veritable vitamin powerhouse!
